THE TEXAS RATTLESNAKE ACCIDENTALLY REMODELS MY BEAK

So yesterday I did my fight scene for the movie "Damage" with Stone Cold Steve Austin, but it lasted barely one take before things took an unexpected turn. While throwing a left hook, Steve accidentally clipped my nose with one of his walnut-sized knuckles (that boy's got some MITTS on him) and broke my nose good and proper, to the extent that it took about twenty minutes to stop bleeding.

I want to stress that this was NOT a case of negligence or incompetence, just one of those things that can happen even between skilled performers when they're swinging their fists at one another. I don't blame Steve at all, he just made a mistake that even the best stunt performers can make (and one of which I'm certainly not innocent).

Being a really cool guy, Steve was upset as all hell after it happened and I had to stress to him several times that I was fine. He obviously learned to laugh about it eventually, because while the medics were working on me, Steve walked up with his arm in a sling and an ice pack on his hand, asking if he could be taken to the hospital to have his bruised knuckles looked at.

On a side note, it was really cool to meet actor Walton Goggins, who I've admired for some time for his absolutely stellar work on the TV series "The Shield", as well as Canadian TV and movie legend Donnelly "I'm fat, old and got hair in my ears" Rhodes. "Damage" will benefit greatly from the presence of those two talents for sure. Same goes for character actor Adrian Holmes, who I've been seeing on set and bumping into at clubs for the best part of a decade. Adrian's leaning down for an upcoming role opposite Halle Berry. Bastard.

I'm back on set tomorrow to finish up the scene, and looking forward to actually getting the damn shot this time. Thanks to Stunt coordinator Scott Ateah, Fight coordinator Steve McMichael, Director Jeff King and of course, my agent Natasha Trisko for making this gig happen.

Click HERE for an interview I did with Fight Network Radio's Mauro Ranallo discussing the incident (starts right after the "Knockout News Recap").
