I'm sad to report that this morning, actor/comedian Bernie Mac died in a Chicago hospital due to complications from pneumonia. The 50-year-old Mac had previously revealed that he was afflicted with sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disease that can cause damaging inflammation in the lungs.

Ever since I first saw Mac in 2000's "The Original Kings of Comedy", he's been one of my favourite stand-up comedians, and I was deeply saddened to hear of his death. Hollywood has lost one of its most unique and entertaining personalities, and I'm sure that I am far from being the only person who's going to greatly miss Bernie Mac.
